Before I jump into the process pics, I have a question for y’all. Where do you source your materials for making merriment this time of year? I’m talking wreath forms, floral wire, silk ribbons, wrapping paper, crepe paper for “surprise balls” (see below), velvet ribbons/fabric for ornament making, paper for making paper chains, etc. Every year I am struck by my lack of available material for frivolous making, and I am determined in 2024 to let myself have an abundance of materials! I’ll start: this velvet ribbon looks pretty great, these are the best star ornaments of all time (and yes, I have tried to make them myself, mine look like shit so far), this wrapping paper looks pretty special. What else ya got? Please send me all your recs (and search terms for vintage versions) so I can bookmark them and start stockpiling them for years to come! ty in advance!
