I love constraints but I don't love feeling like I have failed to keep them in place so need to be a bit more realistic/kind about them. Constraints for me that worked were not using my phone/screen after 8 oclock at night so I could wind down into the evening and not get stimulated resulting in later sleep. This I loved but have been lapse with for about a year. And then I normally fast at Lent and enjoy the timed nature of this - I am not fasting all food, just certain ones and it really makes me notice what effects different foods have on my body (coffee/sugar) and makes me cook in a more creative way. But because it's just for a short period of time I am able to see it through and enjoy it. I think limiting choices can make you really appreciate the things you have and make use of them/be more creative but needs to come from a good place.

It has been so fun to watch your wardrobe shift to reflect the colors of your new surroundings :)

This post inspired me to start reading by candlelight before bed and it's such a lovely habit! I don't prohibit myself from looking at my phone but the intentionality of lighting a candle reminds me that I want to spend more time reading books rather than looking at social media and helps me make better choices with my time. I do agree that it could get expensive to burn candles all the time though, so I also won't force it to be a daily habit- I think I'll be able to find the right balance.
